St. Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul's Cathedral was completed in 1847 after being in construction for over eight years. It was designed by Major William Nairn Forbes, with the assistance of C.K. Robinson. The tower and spire were mainly inspired by Norwich Cathedral. After the earthquake of 1934, the tower was rebuilt on the lines of Bell Harry at Canterbury.

St. Paul's Cathedral is quite well maintained these days and is accessible to the public. Service is held here regularly. The garden surrounding the cathedral is also free form encroachment although the southern part has one-storey building, which is often hired for marriage ceremonies - no doubt a way of collecting funds maintenance of the premises.
