Job
Charnock's Tomb, one of the oldest English monuments in the city is located
in the graveyard of St. John's Church. Today
it lies almost entirely surrounded by modern constructions in a little
green patch. It was built in memory of the English merchant-adventurer,
Job Charnock, who founded the city of Kolkata in 1690.
