Rabindranath
Tagore, the world famous eminent writer,
poet and musician. was born on 8th May, 1861 in Tagore
family of Jorashanko. From his childhood, he was reluctant
in conventional school education. So was he taught by
tutor at home. His father was Maharshi Devendranath
Tagore. Rabindranath was the first Indian to receive
Nobel prize for his unforgettable book"Getajanli".
Numerous poems, stories, novels, dramas and lyrics with
music are still the milestones in Bengali literature.
Vishwabharati University at Shantiniketan was the creation
of Rabindranath. Later, Rabindrabharati University was
set up by his name. The music written and composed by
him is known as Rabindra Sangeet. The Bengalis music
and song cannot be thought about without Rabindra sangeet.
