Bakkhali
The second popular sea resort of West Bengal is Bakkhali , situated only 132 km away from Kolkata , It is quiet and charming. You can spend the week end at this calm and quiet sea beach.


A three hour bus journey from Kolkata to Namkhana, followed by a ferry across the river Hatania Doania, and another bus journey for one and half hour to Bakkhali. Between Kolkata and Namkhana there are CSTC buses as well as private buses.


There is also a train service from Sealdah station upto Diamond Harbour Rail Head and then by road to Namkhana covering a distance of 58 km, else by train from Sealdah to Kulpi and then by road to Namkhana covering 36 km.


There is a West Bengal Government Tourist Lodge which can be booked in advance from the Tourist Office Government of West Bengal at BBD Bagh, Kolkata - 700 001. There are private hotels at very moderate price.


You can have leisurely hours for rest and bathing at the sea away from the congested localities.
